Enterprise Architecture

State Bank of India is a very big enterprise that spans across India. How has this system being built? Where do we begin designing ? The answer is Enterprise Architecture.

Zachmann Framework is one of the famous templates used to create enterprise architecture which starts with high level design to low level design of the enterprise.

Architecture is way to design big and complex things and eventually break it down more detailed architecture. 

One has to see architecture from business as well as technical perspective. 

Business people want to make sure they have systems in place to carry out their business. They decide the business components. Technical people make sure these systems are available, secure, efficient, cost effective, reliable. They decide the technical components that maps to every business component.

In this lecture we look into the how one brings together the business and technical components together to create a component view of enterprise. 

Once we have a component view, we can then deep dive into creating individial components and helping it to connect to each together thereby creating a single enterprise application.

Application Integration in Enterprises

The second aspect we look into is Application Integration.

Integration is a process of bringing together two things.

Enterprise usually have to deal with systems that are built on different languages, operating systems, machines, computing platform.

These systems have to connect to each other at time.
 

In this lecture we understand application integration and how Service Oriented Architecture brings in advantages to bring together a single enterprise or bringing together two different businesses when mergers and acquisitions happen. 

We already worked on a Service Oriented Architected application where services were loosely couple (independent) and yet integrated as part of one system.

Cloud Computing enables Enterprise Architecture, Application Integration quickly, easily, securely.

AWS has a tools such as  Cloud Adoption Framework , Well-Architected Framework , AWS Trusted Advisor that helps businesses to adopt , build, integrate cloud into their enterprise architecture.
